More experienced? Then there are many longer tours to glades, glaciers, cols and summits.
Spring skiing based at Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies is world-class! High peaks, long glacier runs, couloirs, traverses over cols. This place has some of the best alpine skiing around.
April is an excellent time to explore these great runs with powder snow on north aspects and corn snow on the souths. Possible objectives include Mt Hector, Cathedral Mtn, cool alpine circuits and summits around Bow Pass, and backcountry accessed from the Lake Louise Ski Area.
Off-piste skiing At Lake Louise and Sunshine Village
Great turns await adjacent to the local ski areas of Lake Louise and Sunshine Village. The ski lifts get us up high and from there we can either do a short bootpack or tour to get into some powder stashes. Your guide can also show you around the ski area and give you tips on ski technique. Contact me for more information.
There are many great tours available a short drive from Banff and Lake Louise. Take your pick – short tree laps in the Vermillion Burn or West Nile, longer scenic tours to ridges and bowls, or ski mountaineering objectives like Observation Peak or Mount Hector. Contact me for details.
